Another Move?

Dad continues to improve and has made significant progress since the stroke in February. He has had some limited movement on his right side and the potential is there for much more improvement.

The doctors in Corpus want to discharge him soon. However, his is not yet in a position to care for himself. With the limited movement on his right side, he cannot move around on his own. The doctors have indicated that they do not want to discharge him until there is another care facility available to him.

There is a facility in Galveston called the Transitional Learning Center (www.tlcrehab.org) that, we feel, would be a great next step for him. The TLC is a facility that specializes in treating patients with brain injuries and provides rehabilitation services designed to get them back into a relatively normal life. If dad were to go to the TLC, he would receive intensive rehab designed specifically to help his recovery process.

I believe that sometime this week that the TLC will send some people to evaluate dad. I am asking that everyone continue to pray for dad’s recovery. As the decisions that we need to make regarding his recovery continue, I would specifically ask that every pray for guidance in our decision making process. If the TLC is the right place for dad’s next stop, please pray that the evaluation process goes well and that any transition is smooth.

In addition to the above, my parents will be preparing to sell the house and move to Abilene over the next few months. Please pray that this process will be without too many headaches.

Also, my brother-in-law, Charlton, broke his arm. Please pray that his doctor visits and healing process goes well.
